Special Education Advisory Council Applications Being Accepted ::..
The Superintendent of the St. Tammany Parish Public School System is now accepting applications for membership of the STPPS Special Education Advisory Council. Membership is effective for the 2019-20 school year.
The St. Tammany Parish Public Schools (STPPS) Special Education Advisory Council is an opportunity for parents, district staff, and special education stakeholders to provide advice and feedback regarding special education policies, procedures, and resources. The members of the council shall engage in outreach activities to the community at large to increase the level of knowledge, support, and collaboration with respect to special education.

#STPPSFootball Week 7 ::..
Six STPPS teams are in action Friday as we enter Week 7 of the 2019 #STPPSFootball season. On Thursday night, Salmen (3-4) dropped a non-district contest at McDonogh 35 (4-3), 35-6.
Four of Friday's five games will be played in St. Tammany Parish. Covington (2-4) hosts Hammond, Mandeville (5-1) hosts cross-town rival Fontainebleau (2-4), and Slidell (4-2) hosts Ponchatoula (3-3). Northshore (0-6) travels to Covington to face St. Paul's (3-3).
Lakeshore (6-0) takes its 28-game regular-season winning streak on the road to New Iberia where the Titans will face Westgate (5-1).
Pearl River (5-1) is the only STPPS team not in action this week as the Rebels have an open date.

Recognizing the Best of the Best ::..
2019-2020 STPPS Teachers of the Year from all 55 schools were honored at the ninth annual Teacher of the Year Luncheon.
This year's Teachers of the Year have a combined 754 years of teaching experience and 574 years of teaching in STPPS. Twenty-one of the 55 honorees are #STPPSGrads.
Life After College ::..
It’s never too early to start thinking about life after high school.
STPPS will co-host a ‘What To Do After Graduating From High School’ workshop for parents and students on Thursday, October 24, at 5:30 PM at Covington High.
Parents and students will have an opportunity to receive information from colleges and universities, military representatives, and community and technical colleges. Financial aid, college admissions, and career technical education workshops will also be provided.
The free event is open to all STPPS students. It will all include free pizza and gift card drawings.
